“Libamina on the Seashore” is a spatially sensitive production based on the poems of Ilmar Laaban. The play on language and the combination of opposites into images create diverse, dreamlike worlds, opening portals to the world of surrealism that exists parallel to everyday reality. “I” is a constantly dissipating, changing, transforming and transforming entity that seeks true freedom through texts and production, where “remaining alone” is stagnation and death. Ilmar Laaban, whose 100th birthday will be in December 2021, was a trickster figure who remained outside the boundaries in every sense. “Libamina on the Seashore” also seeks this feeling of walking on the border.
