A high society of hunters has gathered at Lord Gorse's country house. During the evening, they begin to discuss the usefulness of animals and come to the understanding that animals that do not provide profit should not exist at all. Among other animals, the badger also comes under criticism, towards which the chairman of the Hunting Society, Pelby, is merciless and declares: "Badgers will never be shown mercy!"
However, the night before the hunt, a Spirit enters Pelby's room and takes him to another planet, where the spirits of animals, birds, fish and insects live. The spirits ask Pelby only one question: "What is the use of a person?"
Pelby needs two voices to save himself and all of humanity. He gets one voice from the Dog. However, the second voice is not so easy to find. Pelby's grace period is about to end when a strange sound suddenly sounds from the vastness of the Universe...
The play is about the divide between man and nature, the importance of every tiny individual, and the impact of today's actions on the future.
